Longji Rice Terraced Fields Scenic Area. Covering a land of 701,000 km², the scenic area is located in Heping Village, Longsheng Autonomous County. It took about 700 years for the rice terraces to finally become what they are today. Crowned as the best of all terraces throughout the world, they look majestic and spectacular with smooth lines and flowing shapes. Paddy fields are the major form of farming here and have nurtured distinctive local and ethnic cultures throughout the years. Notable rice terrace sights are in Pingan, Jinkeng and Longji counties inhabited by Zhuang and Yao minorities.
