Qiao's Courtyard

Qiao’s Courtyard located in Qijiabao Village, Dongguan Town, Qi County, Shanxi Province, is the former residence of Qiao Zhi-yong, a famous national business financial capitalist of the Qing Dynasty. The courtyard was built from Qianlong 20 years in the Qing Dynasty, the whole group of buildings with exquisite design and fine technology is in the shape of the Chinese character which means “double happiness” by overlooking. Since it integrates scientific, historic and artistic values, it is crowned as “a bright pearl in the architectural history of northern folk houses in the Qing Dynasty”. In 1986, it was developed into a folklore museum by the People’s Government of Qi County.
